Terms of Business

  1. 1.Payment:

  2. We accept cash or cheque with Banker’s Card by way of payment


  3. 2.Advance bookings:

  4. a)A deposit of £25 per person is required on all bookings in excess of one month in advance to confirm the booking. 

  5. b)Deposits should be paid by cheque payable to Mrs H Tompkins.  The deposit is refundable up to fourteen days prior to the booking only.  

  6. c)Less than fourteen days prior to the booking the deposit will only be refunded if the room can be re-let for the majority of the original booking period.


  7. 3.Smoking

  8. No smoking is permitted in the house or anywhere outside the designated smoking area.

   

  1. 4.Children

  2. a)Children are regarded as being between 4-12 years of age.

  3. b)Children under 4 (three years or less) are accommodated in their parents room free of charge. 

  4. c)We provide a travel cot (not linen) but no high chair.

  5. d)Children are expected to be well behaved.  A contribution to breakages will be added to the room account.

  6. e)Persons over 12 years will be charged at full rate.


  1. 5.Arrival and Departure times

  2. a)Guests are welcome to arrive after 4pm on the day of check in (see b) below)

  3. b) Please contact us to arrange late arrival (after 9pm) on 01598

  1. c) Guests are required to vacate their rooms by 10am on the day of

    departure


  1. 6. Complaints

    We endeavour to make your stay enjoyable, comfortable and

    hospitable.  However, should you have any complaint or problem,

    please raise this as soon as possible directly with the proprietors

    or alternatively please contact us on 01598 710513 or via post

    at Sheltercombe Cottage, Bratton Fleming, Barnstaple, EX32 7JL.


  1. 7. Registration

    We are required by law to complete a registration form for all

    guests, which guests will be asked to sign on arrival.


  1. 8.Conduct

    Sheltercombe Cottage is a family home. 

    We reserve the right, at our discretion and so far as the law

    permits, to refuse entry to any person on arrival or to ask

    disruptive guests to leave the premises with immediate effect.
